Celebrating Christmas (December 24-26, 2009)

We got to my parent's house Wednesday night. Jake's cousins Maddox & Marrell come over to wait for us to get there. The kids all had matching pajamas. Getting a picture of them that late at night was impossible though.

As good as it was going to get
On Thursday, we celebrated Jake's birthday with a birthday party lunch. Mimi, Granddad & Jackson stayed after the party, so that they could go to Christmas Eve service with us & my family. It meant so much to Robbie & I to go to Christmas Eve service with both of our families. Especially after all of the emotions of last year's Christmas Eve service. Christmas Eve was such a special day for us in so many ways.
After the Christmas Eve service, my family all crammed into our car to ride around & look at Christmas lights (something we always did growing up). We made it through 1 neighborhood before the kids became uninterested. So we called it a memory & headed home to wait for Santa.

During the ride, Marrell & Jake kept holding hands. Such sweet cousins!!
Christmas morning! Happy Birthday Jesus!! Since Jake was pretty clueless about Santa, Santa left his big gifts at home in Chattanooga. He figured Jake would have enough to open between 2 families & a birthday party. Santa figured that he would get away with that while he could!

Mommy & Jake Christmas morning
Little Santa (Robbie fussed about the Santa suit, but how cute is he?!?!) I figure I have a very limited timeline before he starts protesting!
Gran taking Jake outside so he can sneak him extra puffs
For me?!?!?
Enjoying Christmas (& puffs)
More pictures (Jake was getting pictured out)
Marrell ready for the gifts to be opened

Jake with Uncle Billy (my brother)
Marrell & her mommy (my sister-in-law Leigh Ann)
(Note: We missed you Aunt Lindsey & Uncle Brooks!! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks though!)

Daddy & Jake
Me with 2 precious babies
Jake tickling Marrell
Telling each other their favorite gifts
Santa letting his belly hang out (This picture was Robbie's idea. I caved since he let me let Jake wear the Santa suit.)
What was the best gift of all? A snowflake box, of course!
It even doubled as a hat
Maddox is not sure who let all these crazy people in
Christmas sure does wear you out
We headed to the Bush's Christmas night. They had opened gifts that morning, but saved our gifts for when we got there. Unfortunately, our camera was in the car, so we didn't get any pictures with our camera.

Saturday morning with crazy bed hair
Mimi giving Jake one of his last bottles (we switched completely to sippy cups once he returned to Chattanooga)
Testing out his new car seat which was a gift from Great Granddad Jake & GG Kathy. He LOVES it! We took him for a ride in it & it was his first time to face forward in the car. He kept clapping and laughing the whole time. He was so excited.
