Week in Review - Rolling Over & Field Trip

So this week in review is actually for 2 weeks ago. Last week flew by before I knew it and I never got around to updating.

On Monday (1/19) this little munchkin finally rolled over on her own without help or enticement. She has been rolling all over the place ever since!

Some days, I feel like Hollon and I are just stuck inside all day long. So on Tuesday, after we picked Jake up from school, we played outside for a little bit.

Brother played with a bubble gun he got for Christmas.

On Wednesday, Jake's class had a field trip to American Village. (re: B.O.R.I.N.G. Just kidding! (Not really)) I helped chaperoned.

Learning how they cooked in the old days

Drawing what the American flag would have looked like if they designed it
They reenacted the American Revolution and Jake was selected to be a redcoat.
I felt exactly like the little girl sitting down behind them
Another station that was a part of the field trip, was the kids visited a room that was a replica of the oval office. The lady speaking to them did not know the intelligence level of her audience. Her presentation went like this:
Speaker: Does anyone know what room we are in?
Kids: Your room?
Speaker: No. It has a desk in it. What types of rooms have desk in them?
Kids: Our classroom?
Speaker: No, an office. An office has a desk. Do you know what office this is?
Kids: A post office?
Speaker: No, try again.
Kids: Your office?
Speaker: No, this is the oval office. Do you know who works in the oval office?
Kids: You do?
Speaker: No, the president does. Do you know who the president is?
Kids: You?
Finally a teacher spoke up and said that they really don't start learning about the president until February. So we might just want to skip to the next part of the presentation.

Robbie had an early flight out Wednesday morning and wasn't getting back until Friday afternoon. So it was just me & the kids for a few days. Jake declared himself the man of the house.

He likes to help feed Hollon & actually does a pretty good job.

A lot of times I put Hollon in her portable high chair in the kitchen while I cook dinner. Poor thing fell asleep sitting up one night.

Rolling over

My little love bug

This little stinker will cry until someone comes into her room. And then she just laughs.

"Are you here to pick me up?"

"Yes? Oh good."
Robbie got back into town on Friday and then our best friends from Chattanooga came down Saturday to spend the night and go to Jake's birthday party!
