Week in Review

Jake's one request this holiday season has been to make gingerbread cookies.

Since the group photo of Nana & Gran's grandchildren didn't turn out so well, each of us kids are just taking pictures of our kids for their card. I sat Hollon & Jake down to take ours. It started out like this....

And then this happened...

And Jake freaked out...

Hollon was pretty concerned as well...

Thankfully we got cleaned up & dad came home to help with the pictures....
much better

I'm trying to get her used to some nights sleeping without the swaddle

Starting to get the motion of turning over

She can finally grab the toys hanging down from her activity mat
On Thursday, Jake's class had their Christmas party.

Thursday night, Santa Claus came to the neighborhood. Hollon tried on outfits for the picture and Aunt Lindsey helped us pick which one to wear.

Except this one cries if you forget to move her
On Friday, the kids could wear pajamas to school. Instead of his cute Christmas pajamas, Jake wanted to wear his Transformer pajamas. I couldn't argue. After 6 years of pretty much never fighting me on any of the clothes I made him wear, he finally has an opinion. It was a nice run, but I have to face that he is growing up. And enjoying screen-printed cartoon pajamas.

Jake was taking a bath Friday night & turned on the jets when I left the room. I came back to this...
Bubbles EVERYWHERE

Sister thought it was pretty fun to stick her feet in them
After baths Friday night, we had an indoor picnic, popped some popcorn and let Jake pick the movies to watch. (He picked a Veggie Tales movie, the Christmas Toy Story movie [which he has watched 1,593,489 times since it first aired] and Charlie Brown Christmas.)

A sweet little girl's feet, that fell asleep on me
Saturday night we took Jake to the Auburn basketball game. It's the first basketball game he's been to in a few years. Because Auburn is out for Christmas break, we were able to get seats pretty close to the court that are usually reserved for students. It helped keep Jake's interest. The game went into double overtime, but both kids lasted with no meltdowns surprisingly.
