The weekend of my birthday, we stayed in town to get ready for Christmas.
After years & years of decorating with red & gold, I decided this year to change it up. Slowly trying to incorporate more ivory. Poor tree still looks bare.
Not Shown: Jake's tree
One thing Jake was super excited about was decorating the tree. He talked & talked about it on the day we were going to pick out the tree. We met Robbie after work to buy the tree. Unfortunately, the store's selection was badly picked over. So Robbie said he would just go to a different store the next day. Jake was crushed that we were not bringing home a tree that night. He was so sad. So we decided to let Jake pick out a little live 3-ft. tree. He kept calling it his tree. We got it home and put it in the upstairs dormer window. We decorated it with our special & meaningful ornaments. Jake helped me make a paper chain for the tree & a paper star for the top (and I was reminded why I let his school stick to doing the crafts with him). Of course after that first night, he never paid attention too the tree again, which is why I forgot to take a picture of it.
