Week in Review - Last Baseball Game & Mother's Day

Dad was out of town for work again this week, so it was just me and this girl hanging around Jake's baseball practice.

Ready for Tuesday

Sometimes when Rob is gone, Jake will sleep with me. I walked in one evening to go to sleep and this is how he was laying.

Um, no.

She was "hiding" from me

Trying to convince me to let her wear her pool flip flops to school

She found her "toothbrush comb" that I had hidden

Hollon adores Bailey (the little sister of one of Jake's teammates/friends). Bailey (who is in 1st grade) is so sweet and patient with Hollon. I could not have gotten through this baseball season without her!

This week was the tournament. Our team was the #1 seed, so we got a bye on the first round, and won in the second round. This was Thursday, in the semi-final game.
So proud of our Pelham park teams! 3 of the 4 teams in the semifinals were from our park!

The team prays before each game

Great hit by Jake!

The sweet grandparents of one of Jake's teammates bought some of the team little sisters sand buckets and tools. The park where the tournament was played has gravel rounds/sand around all the bleaches. So it was perfect for the sand toy! It kept all the little girls occupied, which was great, because we won the semi-final game and had the championship game later that evening!

The championship game was nail biter! We played another Pelham team. We were their only lost all season, so they were out for revenge. We ended up losing by 2 points. It was so heartbreaking to see all of our boys in the dugout crying. (Yes, I know that sounds ridiculous that 8-year-old park ball, would be that emotional!)

Afterwards, coaches from both teams gathered around the boys and prayed. I cannot say enough how proud I am of our park teams and coaches. This year, we saw coaches from other parks get thrown out of games, scream at their players. Our coaches have always shown class and been great role models for their players. We've played for the coach of the team we lost to, 2 years ago and he is a great guy. We've been on the same team with several of their players past years. I love how our park teams are like family and even if they are on opposing teams, they still support each other.

Our poor little guys were still devastated during the tournament trophy ceremony

Hollon meanwhile, was having the time of her life finally getting to play on the baseball field. This is one of our friend's little boy and I think Hollon has a crush on him.

Thursday was a longgggggggg night, so Friday morning came early!

Hollon stole Robbie's coaches trophy and has been calling it her trophy. She carried it around all day.

Dad planned a fun Saturday morning with this guy. They went bowling and then had lunch together.

Mother's Day

We went to church and then Mimi, Granddad, Nana & Gran came over to our house for lunch. We had so much fun celebrating Mimi & Nana. We adore them so much and treasure the precious gifts they are to our family.

This people.... is a threenager (which worries me, because she is not even 3 yet)
