Christmas Day

Christmas morning

The kids get 3 gifts from Santa, and then the rest of the gifts are wrapped and are from Rob & me. Hollon got a chair and Peppa & George pigs.

Jake asked Santa for a specific nerf gun and Luke Skywalker blade builder light saber. (The 3rd gift he asked Santa for was a plastic Minecraft sword that was ridiculously expensive for a piece of plastic that would break the first time he used it. So Santa left word that he thought he might bring something different that he thought Jake would like better. Thankfully Jake was okay with it.)
The kids 3rd gift was a joint gift and was a karaoke machine. We went out on a limb on this one. Not sure if it will be a hit or a flop (we haven't gotten it out of the box yet). Both kids LOVE to sing. We have a little vTech one that they play with all the time. So we thought they might like an actual one and be able to pick songs they want to sing. Jake is excited about it, so I can't wait for the kids to try it out.

Santa ate his cookies and drank his milk

I made the kids wait in the hall while Robbie finished setting up the video camera

Hollon was not pleased with this request

Hollon loves to watch youtube videos about this alphabet toy. One day when she was with me, I saw it at the store, so I picked it up. I thought I could sneak it by her without her noticing. Of course she noticed it and insisted on holding the box the entire time in the store. She has asked about it every single day since.

I adore the gifts Jake picks out for us at his school's Santa shop. They are always so random and tacky. But Jake is so proud of them. This year, Robbie got a pair of socks, I got a bag and Hollon got an elf hat.

Not amused

Jake likes to buy Hollon hats. Two years ago, he bought her a hat as well.

Jake has 2 blankets that are a perfect kid size and Hollon is always stealing them. So I got her a Peppa Pig blanket this year. I didn't read the size of the blanket on the packaging. It is huge! Like full bed size huge. She loves it, it just takes up a bunch of room. It is so soft and large, that secretly, we've all been using it.

Jake got a new puzzle that he was excited to put together

And he got the game Battleship

Chuck, Judy, Granddad Jake & GG Kathy left Chattanooga Christmas morning and all stopped by our house for gifts and Christmas dinner
Hollon and Granddad

This dress/top has an elastic neck, so Hollon has worn it the last 3 years. The first year as a dress, last year with leggings and this year as a top with pants or bloomers. I think after this year, we'll finally retire it, but boy do I love that you can get so much more wear out of girl clothing.

Opening her gifts from Mimi & Granddad

And helping Robbie & I open ours. This girl loves to open gifts.

Ready for Christmas dinner
Note to self: Next year include a centerpiece
We loved having Mimi, Granddad, Granddad Jake & Kathy here on Christmas day. It made the day so special.

After everyone left, Jake wanted to play one of the games they had given him, Pie Face.

After one time getting pie faced, Hollon didn't want to play again. But she enjoyed watching Jake get hit. Jake loved it. Even after we stopped playing, he kept playing, just by himself, so he could continue to get pied.

So that is a wrap on our Christmas events. It was such a special season, spent with the people we love most and most importantly, celebrating the birth of our Savior.
Merry Christmas!
