Week in Review - Art Show & Bike Rides

Manic Memorized Monday
(memorized by Curious George)

Jake had a ball game Monday night, so he was eating some mac-&-cheese pregame. Look at Hollon's tongue sticking out wanting some.

On Tuesday evening, Hollon's school had their end of the year art show.

Brother getting in on the pictures as well

Precious little keepsakes
 Ready for Wednesday

Hollon falls asleep in the car on the way home from school. Thankfully she transitions smoothly from her carseat to the crib without waking up. She was out cold this day, so I used it as a chance to snap a picture of her sleeping. (She will ALWAYS wake up if I try doing this at night.) She just looked so sweet. There was a part of me that just wants her to stay this sweet little age forever. (Until she has a screaming meltdown.)

Up from her nap and playing outside waiting on brother to get home

Jake is doing so good riding his bike without training wheels. The first few days after he learned, it was easier for him to practice on the street verses the sidewalks. Sister was trying to chase him down.

If I didn't know me, I would look at this picture and think:
1) He is not wearing a helmet
2) Isn't that bike way too small for him?
Answers:
1) Yes, we usually wear a helmet. This was just him riding right in front of our house. Plus, at this point, because his bike is so low to the ground and he pedals very slow, he is more likely to get a head injury from falling in his messy room.
2) This was Jake's first bike we bought a few years ago. It was perfect size then. Then he went a year or two that he just never rode it. Now that he is back to riding a bike, it is of course too small. But it has made it a little easier for him to learn to ride without training wheels. But he will be getting a new, larger bike soon.

Sister got bored watching the bike riding and went to playing with chalk

And back to bike watching.....

....because she used it as an excuse to get to go in the road like brother.

She loves bubbles, but hasn't gotten the concept of blowing the wand to make the bubbles.

She likes to eat the wand.

Trying

Back to licking

Some of Jake's friends came down to play and they all decided to go to the park. Since Jake can't go to the park alone until he is 35, I loaded Hollon up in the stroller and we went too.

This was the only picture I was going to attempt of Jake (and I had to do it slyly). I doubted he wanted me taking pictures while he and his friends discussed all of the places they could go during the game of tag.

Once back home, Hollon started playing with her stroller & doll. She came through and I died laughing. She put a camera on the doll like the doll is taking pictures.

Doing a little coloring while Jake works on homework and I cook dinner

So, one day, our frig wouldn't close all the way. It was shut enough that the door ajar alarm wouldn't go off, but was not fully closed. We kept looking on the shelves trying to figure out what was sticking out keep the door from closing. We looked for a good five minutes before realizing....

....It was Hollon's hair clips stuck to the magnetic part.
A lot of times when we open the frig, Hollon will run over. I guess the magnet on the door was pulling the metal clip out of her hair. There were 2 clips on one door and 1 clip on the other!

Not feeling it on Thursday

Over the weekend, Robbie & I went to Ashville with our good friends from Chattanooga. I've never been and it was a fun, laid back little get-away.
My only picture from the entire weekend. A big thank you to the Bush's for watching the kids!

Here's some things they were up to while we were gone...
lounging around

watching movies before bedtime

enjoying snacks

being read to

picnic after church
THANK YOU so much Mimi & Granddad!!!
