Hollon Elizabeth - 8 Months

8 Months Old Recap:
Likes: attention, being held, shoes, remotes, phones, cords, ears, library card, puffs
Dislikes: being put in her crib awake
Milestones: She is crawling all over the place and pulling up. She can finally eat puffs on her own.
Sleep: She will sleep through the night about 2 or 3 times during the week. The other nights, she gets up about once a night. Either at 2:00 AM or 4:00 AM. If it is 4:00, we count it as a success. Once she gets up, she usually will not go back to sleep unless it is in our bed. She was taking 2 naps during the day, at 8:00 AM & 11:00 AM and then an afternoon cat nap. Suddenly, she is refusing to sleep at these times. I'd love for her to just take a morning nap & an afternoon nap, but that is hard to do because we have to leave to pick Jake up from school. So we are just in trial & error mode until we figure out what works best. Hollon has also suddenly decided that she hates to be laid in her bed awake. She wants you to rock her completely to sleep before laying her down. This happened overnight. For months, she has gone to bed fine (it was getting her to stay asleep that was the challenge!). But suddenly, one day, she just refused to be put in her crib awake. She will just scream until you pick her up. She will now only sleep in her crib if she is already asleep when you put her in it. I feel like we break one bad habit but pick up 2 additional ones. On a positive sleep note, she no longer wears sleepers to bed, but instead pajama shirt & shorts. She looks so cute! It eases the blow that she is not too great of a sleeper.
Eat: Hollon is still breastfed and eats about 5 times a day. (7:00 AM, 10:00, 1:00 PM, 4:00 & 8:00) Now that I'm changing up her nap times a little, and feeding her food at lunch, she will sometimes sleep through the 1:00 feeding. Table food is going okay. She loves fruits and will eat any combination. She hates vegetables. Meats she is okay with. She doesn't love them like fruit, but doesn't hate them like vegetables either. I make most of her baby food, but we use the store bought packets on nights we are at the ball field.
Appearance: Her hair is getting longer. I've ordered small barrettes some to keep the front part off her forehead. That's the longest part of her hair and gets the oiliest. You can tell when her hair has been freshly washed, because it looks so light and sticks up everywhere.  One of her top middle teeth has finally broken through. So she now has 3 teeth.
Size: Either 6-9 month clothing or 12 month. She can still wear a few 3-6 months clothing, but it has to be the right cut. She wears a size 3 diaper.
Things I love: Whenever Hollon is sleepy or drinking milk, she rubs her ear. It is the sweetest thing. I also love when she twirls her feet when eating. I love when she is tired and lays her head on my shoulder.
