2014 New
This year has been full of new things and firsts for us.
We started off January newly pregnant (only a few weeks along). Robbie attended the National Championship Game in CA to see Auburn play. For the first time, we experienced a snowpocalypse (Which I hope we NEVER experience again! Jake is all the time praying that we will get snow & I have to follow up behind him quietly praying that we do not.) In February, Jake lost his first tooth. Later that month, we celebrated Jake's 5th birthday party with his friends at Pump It Up. In March, we welcomed a new cousin, Gaines. I got to finally see George Strait for the first time in concert. In April, Robbie and I also celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary and Jake played in his first baseball game. We also found out this month that we were having a little girl! In May, we completed our last year of preschool at Westwood. It has been a wonderful 3 years there. We threw a birthday party for Nana and Robbie & I enjoyed a weekend away in Atlanta before baby sister joined us. We ended the month with our 2nd annual beach trip with the Strickland family. We kicked off the summer and June with Jake attending a new camp at Kingwood Christian and taking swim lessons. He passed his swim test for the first time! Jake & I headed down for a little weekend getaway in Fairhope. Over the summer, my cousin's little boy was born, Deacon and we welcomed new friends Lydia & Jack. Jake got to go on vacation with Mimi, Granddad & Jackson to Gatlinburg. In July, we went to Chattanooga to celebrate the 4th with friends. I got to celebrate a fabulous weekend with my best friends from college, Robbie went on a boys trip to Chicago and Jake got to spend time at Nana & Gran's. We celebrated Woody's 2nd birthday in Atlanta and afterwards Nana & Gran took all of the kids to Lego Land for the first time. August was a very big month of firsts for us. Jake had his first football practice. He started a new grade, Kindergarten, at a new school. And the biggest event that happened to us in 2014 - we welcomed Hollon Elizabeth!! When September rolled around, Jake & Robbie attended the first Auburn football game of the 2014 season. Hollon got her first modeling job, which she unfortunately bombed. Also in September, we celebrated Robbie's 36th birthday and Hollon attended her first Auburn football game. In October, we attended one of Robbie's best friend's wedding down in New Orleans. We had a new little friend born, Caroline. We ended the month with Halloween with Jake dressing up as Voltron and Hollon dressing up as a pumpkin. We went to Atlanta to celebrate Gaines baptism in November and it was the first time for all 6 grandchildren to be together. We spent most of our Thanksgiving holiday in Chattanooga at the lake with Robbie's family. It was Jackson's first time to meet Hollon. Finally, in December, I celebrated my 36th birthday and Robbie & I enjoyed our first date night just the two of us since Hollon was born. Jake had his first class party, Hollon got to attend her first basketball game and the kids got to meet Santa. We celebrated Jake's 6th birthday, celebrated Christmas with the Bush's and with the Hollon's. We spent the last day of 2014 together, just the four of us watching movies and hanging out.
2014 has been an amazing year.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
