Hollon Elizabeth - 18 Months

On Friday, February 26, Hollon turned 18 months!

18 Months Old Recap:

Likes: Sitting in a chair (especially a rocking chair), iPhones, music, making you chase her, playing outside, playing with her baby dolls, pulling anything out (out of a purse, out of basket, out of a cabinet, etc...), being read to (but it has to be a book she picks out), shoes, jewelry, wrestling with brother, Curious George, microphones

Dislikes: When you will not let her have a snack and taking the iPhone away from her. She also doesn't like to be held by strangers and she refuses to give kisses anymore. She will hug and blow you a kiss, but will not give you a kiss on the cheek. 

Milestones: She sang her first song that I could understand. She was singing "Rock-a-bye Baby while rocking her baby. I couldn't make out all the words, but I could follow her tune. She will also sing "If You Are Happy and You Know It". Again, it is hard to make out some of the words, but you know she is singing it by her motions. She tries to jump, but it is basically her just standing on her tip toes. 

Sleep: She goes to bed at 8:00 and wakes up between 6:00-6:30. She still gets up at least once in the middle of the night and cries out, but 9 out of 10 times, she'll go back to sleep. The other times, I have to just go get her, because she keeps crying and I don't want her to wake up Jake in the next room. I'll put her in bed with us, but she doesn't sleep well there either. Basically, those are just miserable nights. She is down to just one nap most days. She goes down at 1:00 after she gets home from school and usually sleeps about 2 hours. She still sleeps with a pacifier (pap-pap) and a few luvees and animals. Nothing she seems extremely attached to. 

Eat: She is completely hit or miss with the eating. Sometimes she eats great and a variety of food. Other times, she will eat barely nothing and is extremely picky. I just go with it. She is a healthy size, so I don't stress too much the days she doesn't eat much. Just as she is hit or miss with eating, she is that way with milk too. Some days, she drinks 3 sippy cups of milk a day. Other days, I can barely get her to drink one. 

Appearance: Her hair is getting so long (it is to her shoulders), but it is so straight and fine, the longer it gets, the more straggly it looks. So I'm thinking of having the ends trimmed to give it some more volume. Color is still blondish/brownish. 

Size: She wears anything between 12 months to 24 months. Size 4 diapers. Shoe size is between a 4 & 5.
Personality: We call her the friendliest little snob. Hollon loves attention. She loves for people to look at her, talk to her, watch her. But she doesn't want you to touch her or pick her up. She loves to laugh and will act silly. Especially if it is bringing her attention. But when she is in a sassy mood, watch out. She can be very independent and hard-headed. She loves other kids, especially older girls.

-Favorite Toys - baby dolls, baby stroller, little people playhouse, activity desk, karaoke radio, balls, shopping cart & kitchen

-Favorite Words - "Ta-da!", "Hellooooooooo", "I no no" [I don't know], "was dat" [what's that], "mine", "bo no no" [blow your nose], "I poo-pood"

-Favorite Foods - toddler cereal bars, any type of finger snack from her snack container, strawberries, yogurt, pizza, french fries, cookie.
