The Sunday after the Texas A&M game, our family was throwing a birthday party for my grandmother, Maw-Maw. Robbie had to take Robbie Page to the airport, so just the kids & I came down to Prattville for the party. Maw-Maw turned 85!

These kids found the balls and immediately started playing with them
Little kids + bouncing balls + nursing home = bad idea
So we took the kids outside to play
Happy Birthday Maw-Maw. I took a lot more pictures with Maw-Maw in them, but it hurt my heart to post them. They just don't look like my Maw-Maw. Not the way I know her. Her health has gone down greatly this past year, and it shows in the pictures. But that is not my picture of her. My Maw-Maw was an amazing woman. She just lived around the corner from us and my cousins. So we were always at her house. Maw-Maw was not a typical grandmother. She was a young, cool grandmother. She wore earrings that dangled, skirts above her knee and high heels. We would play for hours in her jewelry. I know we lost so many earrings, but she never got mad. We would do fashion shows for her, modeling her shoes and jewelry. We spent time on the farm, feeding the cows, running around the corn fields, playing on the hay bales. She always kept a big jar of jelly beans, that we'd eat until we were sick. I can remember watching Falcon Crest in the evenings at her house. Each year, she would take my cousins, sister & I shopping and buy us our Christmas dress. I had such an amazing childhood, and she was a big part of it. I love Maw-Maw with all my heart, and she loved us back big. I pray for her daily, that she is not in pain and that she knows how greatly her family and friends love her. And I thank God that I had such a wonderful Christian woman in my life that I could admire so greatly. This is the Maw-Maw I will always remember. I'm grateful that we had another birthday year, to celebrate the wonderful woman she is.
This is my precious Maw-Maw.
