Happy Easter!

Warning: 72 Pictures = Long Post

Wow, what a busy but fantastic week & weekend! It started on Wednesday night when we took Jake to see the Easter Bunny. There was no line, so learning from our Santa mistakes, we let Jake warm up to the Easter Bunny first. Jake waved to the Easter Bunny, blew him kisses & walked up to pet him. But the second I put Jake in the bunny's lap he had a meltdown. So, we ended up with a picture that has Jake sitting on a stool in front of the bunny, poking his lip out pouting & holding mommy's hand. On Thursday, Jake's class had their spring class party. He went to school wearing the cutest spring smocked jon jon. Jake has not had an accident at school in weeks, but of course that day, he does. So he attended the party in his "extra" clothes, which was a onesie & knit pants. All well, he didn't care. All he wanted was the cupcakes. That evening, we got to meet baby Jonathan. Jonathan Henry was born on St. Patrick's Day. Because Jake & I have had coughs, we have been scared to visit. So we finally got to meet Jonathan now that he is 2 weeks old. He is such a precious & beautiful baby. New parents Travis & Paulette are doing great! Jake is excited to have another play pal!

On Friday, Jake's daycare was closed, so Rob & I both took the day off to jump start the weekend. Before we left town, we took Jake to get his 1st hair cut. (Story & pics in previous post.) It wasn't as much of a cut, but a trim. Then it was off for the weekend! We stopped in Birmingham for lunch & I got to meet up with my good friends Julie & Brooke from college. It was so great to catch up & see each other's babies!

Fun pals! Then it was on to Prattville to visit with my family. Jake had lots of fun playing with cousins Maddox (5) & Marrell (18 months).

For Christmas, my parents bought this giant inflatable ball you can roll in. Of course all 3 kids wanted in it at the same time. Needless to say, we didn't roll the ball around too much!

On Saturday we went to the Easter event at my parent's church. The threat of rain called off most of the events, but the kids still had fun playing on the playground.

Thank you Mimi for Jake's beautiful Easter outfit. She smocked & made the jon jon herself. Jake looked so cute in it and I got so many compliments on it. You did a great job Mimi!

Nana & Gran gave Jake a play set for Easter. Daddy put it together tonight. We can't wait to see Jake play on it tomorrow!

Late Saturday afternoon, we headed back to Birmingham to see Robbie's family. Excuse all of the pictures of Jake not really doing anything. It is just so fascinating to watch a toddler explore.
Of course there was pouting too.

Jake had a fun time playing with his cousin Jackson. Jake loves older kids & thinks that he is their age. He runs after them, wrestles them, tackles them. He is one tough kid. (In his effort to keep up, he usually trips & falls or runs into something.) He gets up & keeps on going though!

The Easter Bunny came!
On Sunday we all went to Easter service. The Bush's now go to the church that I attended when I lived in Birmingham, so it is always a treat to go back. We did have 1 hiccup Sunday morning though. A few months ago, my mom bought Jake a precious Feltman Brothers outfit. It was a shirt & shorts in a 24 months, so I was for certain that it would fit. I had his cute little knee socks & white Strasburg shoes all ready to go. I unfortunately didn't try the outfit on Jake before hand. My poor little chunky monkey. The pleats on the shirt were just not agreeing with a festively plump belly. Thankfully, I had thrown in an extra church outfit for his diaper bag. While I was bummed, dressing up is not the point of Easter!
Jake's sweet little Easter outfit. The blue thread is actually outlining the pleats in the shirt. All well, it was cute in my mind. (Don't laugh! Being the mommy to a little boy, there are not very many outfits you can get excited about!)
Jake was completely uninterested in egg hunting. The only way to make him pay attention was to put a cell phone beside the egg.
Found an egg & a phone!

Good night from our little bunny!
I hope that you had a wonderful Easter, good times with family & most importantly celebrating the amazing miracle of Christ our Savior.
