Summer

I can't believe I haven't updated the blog since July! I feel like people don't really read blogs anymore, but I never blogged for anyone to read anyway. This is my memory book of the last 10 years, and I'm too lazy to start something new! So I wanted to keep recording. So much has happened the last 5 months! We put our house on the market, started building a house, enjoyed summer, started the new school year, moved into football season, sold our house, moved into our new house and then celebrated Thanksgiving. And I'll recap it all here in the next few weeks.

But first, to recap our summer. We had an AWESOME summer. Hollon was back at at Covenant Daycare and Jake did various camps. And both kids enjoyed weeks with the grandparents.

Summer Week 1: Hollon started Covenant & Jake had golf camp
Not yet ready. Daycare starts earlier than Mother's Day Out.
Trying to get a picture after school was not much better

I finally got a smile

She had a great 1st day!

The first half of summer, she was in her favorite teacher from last year's class
Ms. Amber

Some days call for a crown

Golf camp started Tuesday!

Jake had his baseball team's end of the year party at the Barron's game

Superhero day at school

Visit at school by the Police

End of a great week at golf camp

Lunch with this guy at our clubhouse to celebrate

Hollon's favorite outfit of summer

Jake & Rob got to spend a weekend together at McCallie's Father/Son Weekend

While they were doing that, Hollon & I had a girl's weekend

Our next door neighbor got a golf cart, so we had lots of rides this summer

Saturday, we went shopping at the mall

And then got pedicures

And finished with a little shopping trip to Target to pick out an LOL Doll
LOL Dolls = world's dumbest expensive junk toy

Wiped out

Summer Week 2: Jake had Kids Camp at Oak Mountain

Jake made baseball all stars, so baseball practice started back up

And we snuck in some summer treats

All Stars Weekend!

We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday

And back at the ball field that afternoon/evening for the championship game

Jake's team got 2nd place. So proud of them!

Summer Week 3: Jake had VBS at our church

We had to hide from this one that Jake was at VBS, because she would have wanted to go so bad! I hated for her to miss it, but daycare is already paid for and too expensive to not use for a week! So we tried to just plan fun afternoons!

But sometimes you just really want to go to VBS

We had lots of fun pool days with neighborhood friends

Summer Week 4: Jake had basketball camp at the high school

 Drama Queen

Hollon got to celebrate one of her best friends birthdays at Pump It UP
Christopher & Hollon

When you have a pool setup, but choose to sit in the foot washing bucket

Fun days at school!

Summer Week 5: Fourth of July & Jake had Kids Camp

Cookies are a must during summer

Enjoying the pool with friends on the 4th

Rain closed the big pool, so we headed to our house to play in the little pool

laser tag war

Jake got camper of the week!

On Saturday, we had a slip-in-slide party for Hollon's other bestie Merrin. She came in our room with a doll stuffed in her swimsuit and said she was having a baby😲

They had SO MUCH FUN at the party

Ready for church on Sunday

Summer Week 6: Jake had Camp Mimi & Granddad and then we spent the weekend at Camp Nana & Gran.

This girl is such a mess

Sometimes she looks so old, I wish she would slow down growing
So therefore I still dress her in bubble bloomer shorts to try to make her look young!

The kids had the unveiling of the new treehouse at Nana & Gran's

Mae Stanley was not feeling it

Summer Week 7: Jake had Kids Camp

Summer nights with sweet friends

Fishing at Nana & Gran's. Hollon caught her first fish!!

She did not like it

But she did like driving the trail wagon

Jake got to spend a week earlier with Nana & Gran, so this week was Hollon's. It included lots of dress up time.

And tea parties

She finally jumped off the diving board!!!

Dad was gone during one of the last weekends of summer, so the kids & I enjoyed movies and popcorn in bed

And a last few times at the pool

Dress up with friends

And end of summer pool pizza party

And just like that, our summer was a wrap
