I am soooooooooo way behind, but my plan is to get caught up this week on the blog! We have been running around absolutely crazy, but have been having so much fun! Here is what we were up to in April.....
This was technically in March, but we went to see the Easter Bunny! Going to the mall of course means a ride on the carousel.
Mimi & Granddad hung out one night and neither kid could hang
Mornings are full of sass and personality
And drama
Early April their recital costumes came in
And they practiced their recital dance....
...which needed a little bit of work
Prop of the day - pink bear & Tinkerbell
Someone loves pink (pink raincoat, pink rainboots, pink sidewalk paint)
And jumping in pink & purple muddy puddles
Ending the afternoon with a little bike ride
She loves to sing during bath time
All clean & ready for bed!
(Ignore all the mess in her room that she drug out in less than an hour🙈) |
I had to go to Chattanooga for work, so Hollon spent the nights with the Bushes (so they wouldn't have to come over at 7AM when Rob would leave for work!)
Once I got back from Chattanooga, I went with Hollon's class on her field trip to Old Baker's Farm
Then the next day, I went with Jake's class on their field trip to the Birmingham zoo
Drama happened after I took this picture. Jake's knee got stuck in the railing! They had to stop both trains and call in zoo staff. After about 15 minutes, they finally were able to get it unstuck by rubbing sunscreen on his knee. It was very dramatic!
Ended the zoo field trip with a slide down!
Jake's spring pictures
(I never order his school pictures, because they always look like he just came in from PE and the backgrounds are so cheesy! I'd rather just take them myself.) |
Hollon had her end of the year art show at school. Her teacher had some various pictures taken throughout the year of the kids. I had never seen these pictures.
Hollon & her bestie Christopher
Showing off her art work
With her teacher Mrs. Jennifer
Dance Picture Day!
The first time Hollon's hair has ever been curly
I used sponge rollers and the curls actually lasted all day!
This is extremely curly for Hollon's hair! |
Rob & I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! We headed off to New York for a long weekend.
Dinner our anniversary night
We visited the World Trade Center memorial and museum. They did a great job with it. It is crazy how seeing so many things from that day brought back so many memories. Rob & I have seen many documentaries on 9/11, so we were not sure if we'd learn & see new stuff. But we did. I highly, highly recommend.
We ate at so many great restaurants, walked around and just enjoyed not being on any kind of schedule.
We went to the Disney store to pick Hollon out a NY Minnie Mouse. The kids would have loved this store!
We met one of Rob's good friends from Auburn that lives in NY. He owns a PR firm so he took us around the Tribeca area.
Rob & I have both traveled to NY several times, for both work and fun, but we had never walked the Brooklyn bridge. So that was pretty neat!
Enjoying the last few weeks of school
Still insisting on props for the pictures
Modeling some clothes that Mimi made, that she is starting to sell!
